We’re seeking passionate volunteers and board members to support our mission through research, education, events, and community engagement
Why serve on the Board?
- Make a visible impact on local history, education, and community pride.
- Guide museum programs, preservation projects, and public events.
- Collaborate with a friendly team (average 2–6 hours/month; some roles vary seasonally).
What You Might Do
- Research and storytelling: uncover, verify, and share Hawthorne history
- Docenting: greet visitors and lead tours at the museum
- Collections and preservation: catalog, conserve, and interpret artifacts
- Writing and publications: articles, labels, grants, and newsletters
- Events and outreach: plan exhibits, lectures, and community events
- Digital and admin: website, social media, membership database, and records
