Why serve on the Board?
- Make a visible impact on local history, education, and community pride.
- Guide museum programs, preservation projects, and public events.
- Collaborate with a friendly team (average 2–6 hours/month; some roles vary seasonally).
What you might do
Research and storytelling: uncover, verify, and share Hawthorne history
Docenting: greet visitors and lead tours at the museum
Collections and preservation: catalog, conserve, and interpret artifacts
Writing and publications: articles, labels, grants, and newsletters
Events and outreach: plan exhibits, lectures, and community events
Digital and admin: website, social media, membership database, and records
Applications for Board of Directors due: November 30, 2025
Interviews/selection: December 2025
2026 term begins: January 2026
Volunteer positions: Accepted throughout the year
